Martin Musson
Martin Musson understands the importance of living an active lifestyle that keeps him young at heart.
Recently, Martin was finding it difficult to do the things he loved like fishing and being a handyman. He had knee pain which was caused by a sports injury and aggravated by a missing ACL. Martin eventually decided that he had enough and went to Sudbury Prosthetic and Orthotic Design to find out how they could provide him some relief.
The brace they made was crucial in giving Martin the chance to be pain free in the 18 months leading up to his knee replacement.
“The brace allowed me to maintain my strength,” Martin says. “I had to wait for the surgery and the brace made it possible for me to do so. I cannot speak highly enough about the brace they made for my knee.”
What we did
Martin’s earlier squash injury and hereditary knee concerns made him a candidate for a fitted brace. The brace was customized for his specific needs by providing lateral support to his knee while compensating for the absence of an ACL. This resulted in an increase in stability and substantially reduced the stress on his joints.
