Hello, my name is Candice. I am a 31 year old who was referred to Sudbury Prosthetic and Orthotic Design to have a leg brace made.

I was in a motor vehicle accident, which resulted in me having a stroke. The stroke affected my leg and was not allowing it to function properly. The doctors felt that a brace would help me with walking and help improve my balance again.

I went to Sudbury Prosthetic and Orthotic Design to be assessed for a leg brace. They did some tests on me and casted my leg, and they then fit me with a custom leg brace (AFO). The brace helped me walk better and improved my balance. It helped me not drag my toes on the ground.

Being fit with the brace helped my leg tremendously. Along with my determination, I have now returned to many of my activities. I own my own business as a motivational speaker and author. My passion in life is ballroom dancing and I am able to do this without a problem.
